Who metalwork services are for

COOLASER metalwork services are for anyone with a part to fix, remake or produce.

  • Machine shops and mechanics: brackets, mounts and covers to be cut, bent or welded; parts to be cleaned before assembly.
  • Body shops: thin sheet metal to be welded, rust to be removed, parts to be blasted before painting.
  • Marine: stainless steel details to be welded or finished, oxidation to be removed, components to be marked.
  • Maintenance firms and companies: spare parts to be remade from a drawing or sample, equipment to be repaired or modified.
  • Private individuals: a broken part to be welded, a discontinued spare part to be remade, a metal object to be restored.

What can be requested

Custom metalwork is the production or modification of a metal part on request, starting from the customer's drawing, sample or measurements. The workshop can be asked for:

  • a new part from a drawing, sketch, photo or sample;
  • a spare part to be remade from the original;
  • a modification or repair to an existing part;
  • finishing only, for parts machined elsewhere;
  • one-time or repeat batches, including with variable data.

The material can be supplied by COOLASER, or the customer ships it to the workshop.

How it works

Custom metalwork is ordered in three steps.

  1. Request: in the online form the job is described with drawings, photos or measurements and the lead time is chosen: standard, urgent or by a set date.
  2. Quote: the workshop assesses the part and proposes processes and price.
  3. Delivery: shipping throughout Italy and abroad or, on request, collection from the workshop.

Why a single workshop

In the COOLASER workshop a metal part can go through the whole process without moving from one supplier to another:

  1. laser cutting of the sheet metal, from the file or from measurements;
  2. bending into brackets, profiles or boxes;
  3. laser welding of the parts;
  4. finishing: laser cleaning, blasting, deburring, polishing or vibratory tumbling;
  5. marking of logos, codes or serial numbers, with laser marking on metals.

One contact and one quote, and the drawing is prepared with bending, welding and finishing already in mind. Each stage can also be requested on its own. For small batches with complete processing from cutting to finishing there is subcontract production; for a new part to be designed, CAD design.

Frequently asked questions

Can custom metal parts be processed remotely?

Yes, the COOLASER workshop carries out laser cutting, bending, laser welding, laser cleaning, blasting and metal finishing for customers throughout Italy and abroad. The parts are shipped to the workshop and return finished by shipping; on request, collection is from the workshop.

Can a metal part that is no longer available be remade?

Yes, a sheet metal spare part or a welded component can be remade from the original, from a drawing or from dimensions and photos. Feasibility is assessed on the part; if there is no CAD drawing, one is prepared on request.

How much does custom metalwork cost?

The price depends on material, quantity, processes and the lead time chosen, and is set with a quote. For cutting only from a file, the price is calculated online with the online quote tool.

Does the workshop also do subcontract work for machine shops and companies?

Yes, welding, cutting, blasting and marking are also done on a subcontract basis, from one-off pieces to repeat batches. Work carried out for companies and professionals is grouped under the subcontract laser service.
