What Laser On-Site is and when it is needed
Laser On-Site is laser marking and engraving carried out at the customer's premises, with the workshop's equipment brought on site. It is used when moving the parts is not worthwhile:
- large or heavy parts;
- goods and spare parts already in stock, to be marked before shipping or sale;
- large batches, which would require packing and transport;
- equipment and tools to be identified for inventory.
Laser On-Site is part of the Industry channel, dedicated to industrial laser marking. For live personalisation at trade fairs, weddings and events there is Laser Live instead.
Where the work takes place: warehouse, plant and building site
On-site laser marking takes place in three types of location:
- warehouse: logos, codes and lot numbers on goods, spare parts and finished products;
- plant: serial numbers and codes on components and equipment, close to the department that uses them;
- building site: identification of components and materials at the point where they are installed.
Laser On-Site operates throughout Italy: COOLASER sets out from the workshop in Gaeta (LT) and the travel costs are calculated in the quote.
What is needed at the customer's premises and what is marked
On-site laser marking requires a 230 V power socket and a table near the work point. Before the job a test can be run on a sample part, to decide the type of mark, position and contrast.
At the customer's premises practically any material can be worked, metals, plastics, wood, glass and leather, because the workshop brings the laser suited to the job. The limits are the size of the part and the position of the point to be marked, which the laser must be able to reach: on site an area of up to 220 × 220 mm is marked per position.
The content is the same as for laser marking: logos, texts, serial and lot numbers, QR and DataMatrix codes, including variable data different on each part, in an Excel (XLS, XLSX) or CSV file. The types of mark are described on the page Laser marking on metals and plastics; the one suited to the customer's material is chosen with the test on the sample part.

How it works
The Laser On-Site service is organised in three steps.
- Request. In the Laser On-Site form the location, parts, quantities and content to be marked are described, with photos or drawings, and the lead time is chosen.
- Test. On request a sample part is marked to set the type of mark, position and contrast.
- Job. The workshop works at the customer's premises, with the 230 V socket and the table near the work point: the parts stay where they are.
What to prepare
A Laser On-Site quote needs:
- address of the work location and access details;
- number of parts, dimensions and material, with a few photos of the parts and of the work point;
- logos and texts in vector format, or the list of variable data;
- confirmation that the 230 V socket and the table are available.
